WHY I BOUGHT IT
I had just run out of my old cleanser and needed something to replace it. However, I was in a rush and grabbed this without reading the ingredients as well as I should have, and now I have regrets 😦

Welcome to my first negative review…This cleanser washed off my mascara/eye makeup without any issues and it’s paraben and cruelty free, HOWEVER – after about a week of using it, I took a closer look at the ingredients and noticed it contained Fragrance (Parfum). Not good. Then, I went to the EWG site to check it’s rating, and it’s a 6! Even worse.
My main concern with items containing fragrance is that companies are not required to list what is in their fragrance. This means they can hide all sorts of nasty chemicals under “fragrance” or “parfum” and the consumer has no clue what they are. To get more technical, here is an exert from the EWG website:
“Companies that manufacture personal care products are required by law to list the ingredients they use, but fragrances and trade-secret formulas are exempt. An analysis of the chemical contents of products reveals that the innocuous-looking fragrance often contains chemicals linked to negative health effects.”
I’m not comfortable with that and would prefer to buy products without fragrance, or with fragrance that comes from a natural or essential oil source. I’m usually pretty diligent with scanning ingredients before buying skin care or beauty products, but I had a little lapse with this purchase. Lesson learned.
I would not purchase this product again, and would not recommend it. I may use it up to clean my make up brushes, but I’m on the search for another cleanser.
