Carrot Cake Smoothie – Joyous Health

IMG_7327I just love carrot cake, and now with this smoothie from our book of the month, Joyous Health, I have a healthy, dairy and gluten free way to get that same taste!

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 pitted medjool dates (I have also used a banana instead when I was out of dates)
  • 1/4 cup shredded carrots
  • 1/4 cup hemp seeds
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder (I used Vega)
  • 1 tbsp raw honey
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves (I didn’t use this because I didn’t have any, but it still tasted amazing without!)
  • 1 cup ice water
  • coconut milk, enough to cover dry ingredients (I used almond milk instead)

DIRECTIONS

Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until fully combined.
