I get asked what all natural beauty/skin care products I use quite a bit by friends and family, so I thought I would quickly post about one of the websites that has helped me as I transition to all natural skincare and make up, please say hello to…
No More Dirty Looks (NMDL) is a website that launched in 2010, it’s also a book and a community for people who are passionate about natural beauty, wellness and healthy living. Founded by co-authors Siobhan O’Connor and Alexandra Spunt, these ladies are queens of green beauty in my eyes. Their book, posts and the website community helped me personally deal with a dermatitis flare a few winters ago (more on that soon…) so I feel like it’s my duty to support and share my love of their site.
Another month over and another Petit Vour box to review! Last month’s subscription box was good, but this one was way better. I’m excited to share my thoughts on April’s all-natural and cruelty free products!
This month kicked off my subscription to Petit Vour and I wanted to share a quick recap and review of the products in my February 2015 beauty box, click through to see more details about what I thought of the products :).
WHY I BOUGHT IT I had just run out of my old cleanser and needed something to replace it. However, I was in a rush and grabbed this without reading the ingredients as well as I should have, and now I have regrets 😦 (more…)
Jamie doesn’t post exclusively about natural products, but she is so damn hilarious that I love watching her anyways. She does Kaley Cuoco’s make up, and the videos of them two together crack me up. Anyway, after I watched her video I immediately went and Googled the store to check for a website/on-line shopping, and found that they had a Toronto location:
I’m trying to transition all my makeup and skin care to natural, cruelty-free products and it’s going well so far. I feel like there is way more variety at Whole Foods or your local supermarket, drug store etc. than before, but some natural brands can be preeeetty pricey. To the point where, when I buy something and it isn’t working, it bums me and my wallet out.
It’s tough to get samples at the grocery store, and I could just return the full size product if it’s not working out, but I hate being wasteful and always ask myself: “Where do those lightly used products go once people return them?”. I ended up asking someone at Sephora what they would do with a concealer I was returning and they said it would probably be thrown out…
When I tell people I switched to using soap to brush my teeth, they cringe – and I did too when I first tried it. I thought about how adults in movies would wash a kid’s mouth out with soap if they’d done something wrong. Not pleasant, except now I was washing my own mouth/teeth with soap to keep up with my oral hygiene.
The real reason I started brushing my teeth with soap was by total fluke. I had just moved, couldn’t figure out where the toothpaste was and remembered reading an article where Dr. Bronner’s Soap was used instead of traditional toothpaste. I tested out the method with my Kiss My Face bar soap and haven’t looked back.
